What role do heat exchangers play in the energy transition?

Heat exchangers play a key role in making industrial processes more sustainable. Virtually every form of energy saving begins with making more efficient use of heat that would otherwise be lost.

By recovering waste heat and reusing it in the process, companies can significantly reduce their energy consumption, CO₂ emissions and operating costs. Heat exchangers are therefore increasingly being used in heat pumps, district heating networks, geothermal energy, biomass processes, hydrogen plants and industrial electrification.

As well as saving energy, heat exchangers also enable greater process efficiency. They ensure that heat is made available exactly where it is needed, thereby reducing the amount of primary energy that needs to be generated.
