What is a finned tube?
A finned tube is a tube with metal fins on the outside. These fins increase the heat transfer surface area, particularly on the air or gas side. This type is widely used in air-cooled heat exchangers and in applications where one of the media has a low heat transfer coefficient, such as air or flue gas.
