HVC continues to build a sustainable network
HVC continues to build a sustainable network. HVC will soon deliver 400 kilotons of steam to a nearby chemical company, resulting in a huge CO2 reduction. The co-operation between the two parties continues to grow. The first steps were taken in 2013. In 2017, more than 63.000 tons CO2 fewer are emitted per year, comparable to the emissions of 19.000 medium-category cars.
The disconnection is part of the Dordrecht heat network. The residual heat released during waste incineration at HVC Dordrecht is reused and thus contributes to making Dordrecht more sustainable. The neighbouring company is one of the many heat customers in the city. Many new-build homes are connected to the grid, but the heat network also supplies existing buildings with heat.
The municipality of Dordrecht aims to be energy neutral by 2050. By 2020 Dordrecht wants to generate at least 20% of its energy sustainably. The municipality is taking a big step for the expansion of the network.
Kapp is proud to contribute to making Dordrecht more sustainable. Kapp has not only supplied heat exchangers for heat networks in Dordrecht, but in many other cities too. Talking about the overall CO2 reduction in the Netherlands that has been achieved in recent years through the implementation of district heating for example, Kapp can be legitimally proud.
