FAQ

When is maintenance or replacement of a heat exchanger required?

In addition to routine maintenance, major maintenance is required when a heat exchanger’s performance declines or when inspections reveal wear and tear. Common signs include reduced heat transfer, an increasing pressure drop, leaks or higher energy consumption.

In many cases, cleaning or overhauling is sufficient to restore the unit to its original performance. If the heat exchanger no longer meets current process requirements, is no longer economically viable or has reached the end of its technical service life, replacement may be the best solution.

An analysis of the process data often quickly reveals which option is the most sensible from both a technical and economic perspective. Kapp can help with this!
